KN11 - CHEF'S KNIFE HEAT TREATMENT
After a foil wrap and super seal squeeze I placed the hardware into the oven.
After 15 minutes of good soak, upwards of 1070°C (1958°F) I dragged it out and pressed it between two copper plates in the trusty carpenter's vise.
The foils always goes nasty grey, but some scissors reveal something beautiful.
The hardened steel often takes on colours from oxidizing when it being heated. Cool!
Into the tempering oven for 2 hours at 185°C (365°F) should give us a Rockwell 58/59.
